Case study
Brotherhood Retail Park
GUK, with its extensive experience in providing manned guarding, CCTV, remote monitoring, and mobile response services to retail parks in the Midlands Region, was well-equipped to tackle the historical problem of anti-social behaviour at Brotherhood Retail Park. Our challenge was to significantly reduce this issue and transform the park into a safe and secure environment for all visitors.
Understanding the client’s specific budget restraints, GUK was committed to creating a service solution to meet their needs within these tight limits. While initially unavailable due to cost, the ideal solution of deploying 24/7 manned guarding to the site was not overlooked.
GUK management, with their expertise, devised a solution using our hybrid service offerings:
- We deployed manned guarding 7 days a week from 0700 – 1900, which covered the core hours for visitors and retail staff.
- We enlisted our technology division to complete a CCTV audit with recommendations for any upgrades.
- We upgraded the software to allow the CCTV cameras to be remotely monitored by our 24/7 Control Centre, which provided more support during the twilight hours.
- Our mobile division completed two patrols a night during prevalent anti-social behaviour times to deter groups from loitering within the retail park.
- The mobile division was on call should an incident occur and needed a quick response
This hybrid solution meant The Brotherhood retail park always had a layered security presence.
Over time, our client saw a reduction in crime levels and a reduced number of anti-social behaviour occurrences. The Brotherhood retail park maintains the CCTV and Out of Hour response services. However, crime has reduced so much that there is no longer a need for bi-nightly mobile patrols.
GUK will always have our mobile patrol unit on standby in case of any emergencies.
